Grateful for my Mentors :)
Oh, how grateful I am for the people I surround myself with!
Just today, I finished our final presentation for one of my classes. It was a startup pitch, and I was really excited to work on it, especially since I've been involved in pitch competitions in the past.
But what made this experience even more exciting was the chance to learn from my mentors. Honestly, this task became a bit of an excuse for me to just reach out and talk to them.
I’m dropping names here, but I’m pretty sure they won’t be able to read this blog anyway, so I’m fine with it: Sam, Arstin, Leonard, and Sharan. (Sharan may not be my official mentor, but I like to consider him as one, haha.)
Each of these mentors helped me in such unique ways. Sam guided me through the early drafts of my pitch deck and the finishing touches (I can't believe it, she was also there watching me pitch the whole time!). Arstin introduced me to an innovative method for creating a prototype that turned out absolutely amazing. Leonard helped finalize our pitch by adding missing details, refining the Q&A portion, and really putting in the effort to update and provide resources, ensuring I didn’t miss anything. Sharan, even though he was abroad on vacation, made time to review and comment on our pitch deck at 2 a.m.
I don’t think any of them realize just how much their support means to me. It honestly warms my heart that they’re always willing to help whenever I ask. I can only hope that I can repay their kindness or become someone who offers the same support to others one day.
If my younger self could see me now, I think she would be thrilled to know I’m surrounded by such incredible people. These are the kinds of people I’ve always been looking for, and I’m so grateful to have personally met them.
To the mentors I've mentioned here, if by some miracle you happen to read this... here I am once again saying, thank you! :) ♡
